Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on court had caused some to question if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved service.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.

He defended 4 early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
