Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, indicated that a future comeback is something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign featuring a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, now holds roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured the Premier League under Arne Slot, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he told the podcast host: “I declared I refuse to lead any other side on English soil. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...yeah. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I could make the decision in a few years, I don’t know. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on the specific conditions would have to unfold to bring him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he feels no immediate pull for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be in the rain for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, however, dining out with the players talking freely, I appreciate that. With many victories meaning regularly positive atmosphere in the building. I still have Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended regarding Arne Slot, praising him due to the changes that won the league last campaign. The team has suffered a string of losses in all competitions after a summer spending spree, though he denied the idea of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The forward died tragically in a road accident together with his sibling in July.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his footballing ability, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the team environment without him in it. Putting it into words is tough about it. A profound tragedy for his teammates also. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Handling this emotionally is challenging. Unbearable.”
